Saint Mary's Catholic Church dedicated 20 years to raising funds for a new parish building designed to better accommodate its growing congregation.

The new structure is three times larger than the original church, with a sanctuary that nearly doubles the previous seating capacity. In addition to the expanded sanctuary, the new building features a spacious narthex for gathering, a dedicated choir rehearsal room, and a lower-level office for parish administration.

To ensure the new sanctuary preserved the acoustic quality of the original space, Soundscape performed measurements in the existing church to assess its acoustic environment. Using this data, Soundscape then developed acoustic design criteria for the new sanctuary, scaled to the new sanctuary’s larger dimensions and increased seating capacity.

Acoustic modelling was then used to inform design decisions and guide recommendations to achieve the desired acoustic performance.
