This renovation to the First Division Museum, which receives over 110,000 visitors per year, included replacement of all of the museum’s HVAC systems and a complete update to the First in War exhibit.
This $7 million update was part of a $27 million grant to improve the park and museum. The reopening of the museum coincided with the museum’s 50th anniversary celebration.
Soundscape worked with exhibit designer Luci Creative and other design team members to ensure that the acoustical environment in the exhibit hall would support a more interactive and immersive experience for guests.
To this end, Soundscape consulted with respect to sound absorbing finishes in the exhibit hall and within the exhibits and noise control for the building’s new HVAC system. Under separate contract to the Museum, Soundscape also consulted with respect to improving the acoustical environment in the main entry lobby so that it would be better suited to live presentations, exhibitions, and films.
