Mandy Kachur from Soundscape Engineering will be co-presenter at the 2021 Environments for Aging Expo & Conference. “The Effects of Noise on Dining Room Occupants Across Community Types” presentation will cover an overview of communication difficulties experienced by the hearing impaired in noisy dining rooms, and how planners, architects, and engineers can help control the background sound levels.
Her co-presenter is Noral Stewart of Stewart Acoustical Consultants. Both consultants volunteer with the Facility Guidelines Institute on the Acoustics Proposal Review Committee. FGI is the independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to developing, revising, and publishing three guidelines volumes for the planning, design, and construction of hospitals, outpatient facilities, and residential healthcare and support facilities.
