Anna Catton

Anna Catton started with Soundscape Engineering in 2015, when she was an undergraduate at Michigan Technological University. She spent three summers as an intern at Soundscape while completing her undergraduate studies and while attending graduate school at the University of Nebraska. After earning a Master’s in Architectural Acoustics, she was invited to take a full time position as an acoustical consultant with Soundscape.
During her time in college, Ms. Catton also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Nebraska and as a DeVlieg Research Scholar at Michigan Technological University. As DeVlieg Research Scholar she developed and fabricated new loudspeakers, optimized for use in the Mechanical Engineering department’s sound reverberation chamber. As a Research Assistant at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, she worked in the Audiology Department at the Boys Town National Research Hospital in Omaha, assisting principal investigators in studying the capabilities of virtual sound environments for use in hearing research studies. While at Nebraska, she also worked as a member of the multi-disciplinary team for the EPA-funded study of “Evidence-Based Interactions between Indoor Environmental Factors and Their Effects on K-12 Student Achievement.”
Since joining Soundscape Engineering, Anna has contributed to a wide range of projects involving architectural acoustics, environmental noise, and noise control. Her project experience includes corporate offices, worship spaces, K-12 schools, fitness centers, healthcare facilities, hotel, and residential and mixed-use buildings.
